Services & Support: The College Admissions Process

Getting into college is a process. Tackling that process peacefully is possible when you approach it as such.

The first step is understanding the costs, milestones, deliverables, and measurable outcomes involved.

Full Spectra makes this possible by breaking the process down and holding your hand through the following stages:

  • 1:1 and group coaching sessions between March 15 of the junior year through February 15 of the senior year
  • Quick, easy, and comprehensive personality assessments that target the right institutions, educational experiences, and career paths
  • Navigating the funding process
  • Reserving your Class of 20XX seat with a student deposit
Get through

Services & Support: The First 3 College Semesters

Full Spectra’s Get Through package supports students who have accepted an offer of admission and submitted deposits to secure a seat at the college of their choice.

Getting through college is a process much like a reality TV show:

  • Think of it as an obstacle course with unscripted situations students must face and overcome like in Survivor or The Amazing Race.
  • The outcome differs for every person because earning a bachelor’s degree is a journey of self-discovery.
  • It all begins with building a solid foundation and protecting that GPA from day one.

With 1:1 and group coaching sessions from July 1 before college freshman year through December 31 of college sophomore year, you’ll have a partner and an invested mentor to guide. You’ll get:

  • Course load guidance. As you register for first semester classes, you’ll be sure to meet your deadlines and select a course load that is aligned with your goals and steers clear of classes that repeat high school curricula.
  • Personalized advice to unleash purpose and passion. From navigating roommate challenges and identifying student experiences and services to having those “must have” conversations with professors, let The Full Spectra be your guide. Together, we’ll build meaningful campus relationships that will position your student to access the right life options at graduation.
  • Strategic resources to focus and invigorate. Students need a steady stream of targeted guidance during this important time. In addition to 1:1 coaching, you’ll receive motivational checklists, e-newsletters, webinars, and podcasts to help your student maintain focus and get the most from this once in a lifetime experience.
Get on

Services & Support: The First 3 College Semesters

Today’s employment landscape is complex. Without a plan for the future, even the most mature upperclassmen can find themselves feeling lost and confused.

  • Will you need an undergraduate licensure program?
  • Are you prepared for employment that could take you abroad?
  • How well will you be prepared for a hybrid, startup, or self-employment situation?

With The Full Spectra’s Get On Program, students will be prepared. Together, we will:

  • Inventory their academic record. Follow a prescribed checklist of highly recommended co-curricular experiences (e.g. research, internships) and networks.
  • Dig into the metrics of life planning. We’ll bring their vision for the future down to earth. Then we’ll map out actionable strategies to put their bachelor’s degree to use.
  • Leverage school resources. Students will be equipped to command interactions with departmental faculty, Career Services, Alumni Relations, and other offices to get in front of the pack with employers, graduate programs and professional schools.
  • Talk about finances. This is the perfect time to highlight fiscal responsibility, which can be one of the most important building blocks of the student experience.

Students receive 1:1 and group coaching sessions between January 1 of college sophomore year until 6 months after college graduation. Plus, students receive checklists, e-newsletters, webinars, podcasts, blogs and more so students know what needs to be done and why.

Group sample plan

Modified Getting IN Services - 3 Students required; 5 maximum

The Group Sampler offers students and their families a modified “smorgasbord” version of The Full Spectra’s Get In package.*

Services include:

  • Initial consultation
  • Personality assessments to identify ideal careers and higher education opportunities
  • Transcript assessment
  • Collaborative outlining for the general college essay
  • Encouragement and accountability strategies that promote and encourage regular student involvement with parents/guardians, guidance counselors, or college-prep program facilitators

Three 75-minute group coaching sessions are scheduled within a 6-week period between April 1 of high school junior year through February 15 of high school senior year. Sessions are leveraged with the same checklists, e-newsletters, webinars, blogs, etc. that our Get In package offers. These resources enable students to take ownership of the college admission process.

*This group plan benefits families with multiples by providing cost savings, fostering collaboration among participants, and can accomodate groups living in different time-zones.

Move up and get in

Services & Support: Middle School Students

Move Up and Get In is for students applying to private high schools.*

Applying to a private high school is arduous and taxing on the family. Students at this age need more hands-on support than many parents and guardians are equipped to provide.

When your student works with The Full Spectra, services include:

  • Organizing and understanding the admissions process and the deliverables
  • Guidance for taking tours
  • Preparation for entrance exams and interviews

The Full Spectra provides ten 75-minute 1:1 coaching sessions between July 1 of the year prior to the student’s desired fall enrollment through February 15 of the application process year.**

* Due to the volume of clients in this demographic, space is limited to 5 clients per cycle.

**Please note that parent participation is required for at least the first session(s). After that, parent participation varies by student maturity and ability level.

“Her professional philosophy showed me how to achieve long-term goals by making the right day-to-day decisions.”

“I was fortunate to meet Mrs. Celestin as a student in the Summer Enrichment Program at the University of Delaware in 1992. Her personal guidance and professional counseling started me on the path to academic and professional success.

She imparted upon our young minds the values of hard work, resilience, and discipline that enabled us to undertake advanced educational endeavors. Her professional philosophy showed us how to achieve long-term goals by making the right day-to-day decisions.

Mrs. Celestin ensured each of her students received personalized help in weak areas and helped us choose career paths that best fit our capabilities and interests. Most importantly, she enabled us to set our goals as high as we wanted to, with the knowledge that she would help us achieve them.

I am certain that my fellow students who are now successful professionals in a variety of fields would agree that Victoria Celestin’s hard work and dedication to her students is a major factor in their achievements. Her guidance and mentorship expanded beyond the professional realm, teaching us to be loyal, honest and kind individuals.”

“Rather than dread his tutoring, our son looked forward to the sessions and even asked to increase the number each week.”

“We were blessed to find Victoria. She not only helped my son in his academic subjects, but she also helped him with time and stress management. Victoria is extremely intelligent, responsible, patient, approachable, and kind. Rather than dread his tutoring, our son looked forward to the sessions and even asked to increase the number each week. Victoria helped to strengthen his skills, and also increase his self-confidence. We feel very lucky she came into our lives!”

“I credit Ms. Celestin for giving me the tools I needed to be successful in realizing my professional dreams.”

“I still remember the advice she gave us regarding time management and keeping our eyes on our long-term goals. During individual advisement sessions, she took the time to get to know me and to understand my strengths and areas to improve. She gave me support and encouragement and made sure I was staying on track to achieve my goals. I desired to pursue a career in Physical Therapy. Ms. Celestin showed us the immense value of observing professionals performing the jobs we were interested in.”

Stephanie Banks, DPT, CSCS Physical Therapist & Personal Trainer, Albany, NY

“Ms. Celestin skillfully helped these students navigate and balance their academics and soccer careers…to this day she still maintains a relationship with each of them.”

“I am grateful for the guidance and dedication Victoria Celestin put forth toward the 6 student-athletes, including my son, who moved from Miami to the North East to begin their college careers. Ms. Celestin used her expertise and personability to help transition these boys from high-school to college-level academics. She was attentive to each student and took personal time and attention and most importantly cared for the needs of the students.”
